DESCRIPTION:Dear colleagues\, dear friends\, \nThe European Congress of Trauma and Emergency Surgery (ECTES) 2020 was to take place in Oslo\, on April 26-28\, and we had finalised a great programme for what was going to be the most multidisciplinary ECTES to date. Like similar congresses all over the world\, the Corona virus outbreak sadly forced us to postpone the Oslo meeting to 2021. However\, the pandemic resulted in ECTES 2021 being run as a successful virtual meeting that was well attended. \nFor 2022\, ESTES is delighted to announce that we are again planning a complete physical congress and we hope to see you at the 21st ECTES from April 24-26\, 2022 in Oslo\, Norway. \nESTES is focusing on the critically ill and injured surgical patients\, with ECTES as the arena bringing personnel groups together in a multidisciplinary environment to improve\, optimise\, inspire\, recruit\, and provide possibility for networking and learning from each other. Similar to previous editions of our congress\, the ECTES will retain its international character in 2022 by hosting over 40 sessions with numerous speakers from all over the world. The ESTES is looking forward to offering a platform to experts in all areas of trauma and emergency surgery. We will host a number of guest symposia including several international scientific societies like IATSIC\, DGU\, ATLS\, ATCN and AO Trauma. \nWe are lucky to work in a field that is both diverse and dynamic. Within the last decades\, many different innovations and improved treatment strategies have been implemented for the benefit of our patients. Our five sections\, Emergency Surgery\, Disaster & Military Surgery\, Skeletal Trauma and Sports Medicine\, Visceral Trauma and Polytrauma\, as well as the Permanent Education Committee are preparing an exciting and interdisciplinary programme. \nOslo is a city on the rise and a capital world-famous for peace politics\, where people with diverse backgrounds exchange ideas and develop modern solutions. Oslo can present pioneering architecture and is surrounded by beautiful nature and sporting. DESCRIPTION:Dear Colleagues\, \nThe next Alpine Liver and Pancreatic Surgery Meeting is scheduled to take place in Madonna Di Campiglio\, Italy\, 2-6th February 2022. \nWe are hopeful of an in-person meeting in 2022\, however\, we will continue to monitor the impacts of the pandemic and only open registration once it is feasible to do so.  The 2021 virtual meeting was a great success and we are grateful to our sponsors AngioDynamics for supporting the event\, and the launch of our new Educational Platform. DESCRIPTION:Zealand Surgical Forum 2021\nWith the ever-increasing incidences and second highest mortality rates in the western world\, colon cancer has become one of the focal points for research and development for both clinical personnel and translational research scientists. Recently\, there have been massive leaps in our understanding of this disease and treatment modalities\, and novel promising therapeutic approaches are underway. \nSurgery continues to be the primary curative treatment approach for this disease and it is now known that the variations in short- and long-term survival are influenced by the strategies for perioperative care and the quality of surgical treatment. \nWhich brings us to the much-awaited programme for this winter\, the Zealand Surgical Forum 2021. Since 2015\, the ZSF brings together surgeons\, physicians\, nurses\, students and researchers to facilitate the international exchange of ideas and experiences and set the stage for developing newer standards in the field of gastrointestinal disease and surgery. SUMMARY:Høstmøtet 2021
DESCRIPTION:Det er vanskelig å forutse hvordan høsten 2021 vil se ut med tanke på smitte i samfunnet og tiltak fra regjeringen. Men det er endel lyspunkter å se hos land med høy vaksineringsgrad\, som gir håp om lette i smittevernstiltak over sommeren. Vi har derfor bestemt oss for å planlegge primært for et fysisk møte.\nVi gir oss selv frist til 14. juni 2021 med å avklare om det lar seg gjøre\, eller om det må gjøres om til et digitalt møte tilsvarende i fjor. \nFysisk møte\nDet vil bli på Meet Ullevål i uke 43. Tidsfordelingen blir ca. som i 2019- i tillegg planlegger vi satelittsymposier sponset av industrien. Dette fungerte utmerket i fjor\, og vi vil prøve å videreføre konseptet med fysisk deltagelse. Hovedfokus skal være symposier\, inntil 25% av allokert tid kan brukes til frie foredrag. Det legges opp til at alle abstracts vil vises som digitale postere\, og de beste vil få mulig til å presentere sine som frie foredrag. \nDigitalt møte\nVil utføres på Teams/Zoom i uke 43 Om det ikke lar seg gjøre å arrangere fysisk møte\, blir det et digitalt møte i tilsvarende størrelse som i fjor. Vi vil ha mulighet til å noe økt kapasitet for å kunne fasilitere de som ikke var med i fjor.
